Late last year, as I was driving down the highway not far from my home, I noticed a billboard ad thanking Congressman Dan Crenshaw for delivering on military pay increases. I was curious about the organization behind the ad. So, I looked them up they appear to support US veterans to run for Congress. Nothing wrong with that. Then I found that they have an affiliated caucus comprised of Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives. “What kind of legislation do they support,” you might wonder.

The For Country Caucus (affiliated with With Honor) has supported legislative efforts to expedite the processing of Special Immigration Visas for Afghans to come to the USA after the war in Afghanistan.

The caucus also helped secure a two-year extension of the Afghan Special Immigration Visa Program, extending it through 2027. . Following a 2025 shooting incident involving an Afghan national, the U.S. has paused visa processing and implemented stricter restrictions on entry.
In 2021, approximately 76,000 Afghans were evacuated and admitted to the U.S. under Operation Allies Welcome, which was a program granting humanitarian parole. Some sources estimate that around 200,000 Afghans arrived in the U.S. following the Taliban takeover, though the exact figure is hard to verify and includes various immigration pathways like the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program. Since that time, total arrivals are estimated to be near 200,000 Afghans resettled in the USA. For Country Caucus supported the Biden Administrations efforts to bring Afghans to the USA after the war. The caucus continues those efforts to this day.
Due to deeply ingrained cultural and religious norms that can conflict with American laws and values, Afghans have difficulty integrating into American life. While many Americans can understand the rational of wanting to protect those who worked with our troops as interpreters, there is growing concern among Americans that those brought in under the SIVs weren’t adequately vetted. As a result, thousands of unvetted Afghan nationals including terrorists, sexual predators, pedophiles, and kidnappers into our country. Afghan nationals have been arrested in relation to acts of terrorism in the last several months.
The interest of Americans and America must come before those of our allies and those of contractors hired while the US Military conducts operations abroad. But the PAC behind the billboard didn’t thank Dan Crenshaw for brining Afghan assylum seekers to the USA. The voters in US Congressional District 2 might not be on board with that.
In addition to supporting every effort to expedite Special Immigration Visas for Afghans, it seems the For Country Caucus supports all the foreign aid spending bills. This may be why Dan Crenshaw hasn’t seen a foreign aid spending bill he doesn’t like. Since 2024, the caucus has supported spending packages totalling $145 billion supporting Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. These expenditures do not align with the America First sentiment voters are expressing.
Who knew, an innocent looking billboard ad, no doubt intended to endear voters to Dan Crenshaw for voting for a pay increase for military members would lead to the discovery of their bigger agenda. Those military pay increases amount to just over $3 billion. In the grand scheme of things, it seems more could be done for our veterans and active military consdering how much is allocated to defense spending not directly related to keeping Americans safe at home.
The PAC claims to be bipartisan, but Influence Watch describes it as left-leaning. The PAC has been funded by extremely liberal figures like Jeff Bezos.
Dan Crenshaw’s entire campaign has been one big deception aimed at smearing his more conservative opponent, Steve Toth. Add this billboard ad designed to make us feel good about what our congress critter has been doing in DC to the long list of deceptions. Read more about deceptive Dan Crenshaw here, here, and here.
